Chapter I

It was a struggle. History will unfortunately judge my struggle as a failure. However, in my defense, I always knew this struggle would end in failure. But as I saw it, I had could not walk away. That was never an option. My grandfather, Dr. Zsoldos was born to be a politician. He was the fifth President of my country (or at least as it was when I was born) and helped the nation through the particularly difficult times of the early 20s. However, despite his dedication to the nation, he wasn't without his detractors. Most of whom accused him of pandering to the minorities. Whether he did that or not is not for me to say. It anyways seems irrelevant at this stage. But what his detractors failed to understand was that even after they came to power, they would face an uphill task in keeping the nation together.
